ORTHODONTICS WITH BRACES

Dental braces are used in combination with a variety of other orthodontic appliances which help  widen the palate or jaws. The braces have been used by Dentists around the world to assist in shaping of the teeth and jaws.There are two most popular braces available: the metallic braces and ceramic braces.

Braces have proved successful even in the most extreme cases of crowding or gap teeth. They apply force and pressure on the teeth to move them to desired locations in the due course of time.

With the use of braces, the periodontal membrane stretches on one side and is compressed on the other side. The whole process takes two to three years to yield results with periodic adjustments every three to four weeks.

Nowadays, bonding material, arch wire, procedure brackets and ligature elastic are used in addition to the traditional braces to align the teeth.
